Social Media Threat Not Credible

Message for our Harpursville School Community:

As you may be aware, there has been a generalized threat made on social media across the country toward “schools”.   This threat has been on various platforms and has been reposted multiple times.  Law enforcement is aware, has been investigating the situation, and has indicated that there is not a link to local schools.  Furthermore, the threat has been determined to be non-credible.

We always take threats against our schools seriously.   We will continue to be vigilant with our safety and security.  We appreciate the guidance and support of our local law enforcement agencies when situations like these arise.

Many of our families shared information with the district today.  Thank you for your concern and for being proactive in bringing this to our attention.   Keeping the lines of communication open is a critical part of promoting the safety of our entire school community.

Best wishes for your continued health and well-being!

School Board Recognition Week

New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) has reserved October 18-October 22 as School Board Recognition Week across the state this week.  In honor of our school board members, whom volunteer their time on the behalf of our school community, we held a special presentation at the board meeting last Wednesday, October 13.  The Student Council, led by Mrs. Hendrickson, gifted each school board member with a personalized mug and some Halloween treats.  The Honor Society, led by Mrs. Rusnak, sent each board member a heartfelt video message.  Mr. Mark Capobianco, on behalf of the Broome-Tioga School Boards Association and Broome County Executive Jason Garner prepared a letter of gratitude and a proclamation which were presented to each of our board members. Then, Science teacher Mr. Mark Muller and student Brayden Hendrickson shared their first hand experiences as part of our school district as well as a very interesting demonstration from their recent Drones class.  We thank Mrs. Kacie Huston, Mr. Russell Weist, Mrs. Jessica Hartman, Mrs. Michelle Noyes, Mr. Michael Bennett, Mr. Michael Rhodes and Mrs. Melissa Anderson for their service to the Harpursville Central School District!  CLICK HERE for photos!

The NEW Jr./Sr. High Main Office is now open!

We are very excited to announce that our new Jr. Sr. High School entrance and offices have opened!  Our new lobby and main entrance contains the offices of the School Resource Officer in addition to our Guidance and Principal's Offices.  All Jr. Sr. High students and visitors should now use the new Main Office entrance through the beautiful new courtyard so evident with our Hornet hive pride!  Many thanks to students, staff and community members alike for their patience through this major improvement to our campus.  Jr. Sr. High pick up and drop off will now be through the new courtyard in the rear of the building.  We encourage drivers to use North Drive to reduce traffic at the WAO drop off loop.  We hope you enjoy ALL of our BEAUTIFUL new spaces throughout our campus!  Thank you for your continued support!
