Information regarding scholarship opportunities is posted in the guidance office, the English 12 classroom, the library, and on the HCS website.   Please come to the Guidance office for applications and more information. If you are a remote student and would like an application mailed to you, please email Mrs. Walker at [email protected] requesting the scholarship(s) that you are interested in applying for. 

Scholarship deadline dates below are firm, don’t be afraid to turn your applications in early!!!   IF YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE GUIDANCE OFFICE PERSONNEL MAIL YOUR SCHOLARSHIP PACKAGE YOU MUST HAVE IT IN BEFORE THE DEADLINE LISTED BELOW.

January Deadlines

SFCU Scholarship: Must be a member of SFCU and are attending a two or four year college.  There is an essay required.  Academic achievements, extracurricular and community activities considered.  Deadline: January 8, 2021

Section Four Wrestling Officials Association Scholarship: Available to graduating students who participated in wrestling whose plans after high school include college with area of study or workforce or military. Deadline:   All materials should be post-marked, faxed, or e-mailed by January 15th  

February Deadlines

Air and Waste Management Scholarship: High School graduates entering college in 2021 or current college students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate level programs.

• Applicants must be enrolled in an environmentally related degree program. 

• Applicants do not have to be AWMA members or a relative of a member. 

• Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 credit-hours or more) for the Fall 2021 semester. 

• Applicants must be residents of or going to college in the Central New York region. Deadline: February 28, 2021

 

PC/M32 Corporate Scholarships - 

Ability AdvantEdge Scholarship : For High School graduates who are a person with a disability, defined as physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activity. Graduate must have a minimum of a B- average in high school, is involved in community service/volunteerism and is a resident of a marketing area in which we operate.

Teammate AdvantEdge Scholarship: For High School graduates who are currently an active Price Chopper/Market 32 teammate, part-time and full-time who are also involved in community. Graduate must also have a minimum of a B- average in high school as well as a 3.0 or higher performance appraisal. 

Community AdvantEdge Scholarship: For High School graduates who have been accepted to a 2-4 year accredited college/university as a Business major. This scholarship will be awarded to either: an active Price Chopper/Market 32 teammate or the child/grandchild of an active, retired or deceased Price Chopper/Market 32 teammate or Price Chopper/Market 32 Trade Partner. 

Entrepreneurial AdvantEdge Scholarship: For High School graduates who has been accepted to a 2-4 year accredited college/university as a Business major.  The candidate should have volunteer/community leadership/entrepreneurial involvement and be a resident of the marketing areas in which we operate.

Diversity AdvantEdge Scholarship: For High School graduates are currently an active teammate of Price Chopper/Market 32 who has a performance appraisal of 3.0 or higher. Graduate must also have a minimum of a B- average in high school, are enrolled in or have been accepted to an accredited 2-4 year college or university and be a person of color, member of the LGBTQ community, a veteran or other minority group.  Deadline for all PC/M2 Corporate Scholarships: February 28, 2021

 

American Society of Military Comptrollers, CNY Leatherstocking Chapter Scholarships: For High School graduates who demonstrate exemplary leadership abilities, has an interest in a financial management career field and has academic promise. The ASMC Scholarships are for students entering the fields of Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration or Economics.  Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation; one from the high school principal, academic dean or guidance counselor and one from either a community organization, religious organization or employer.  Deadline: February 28, 2021

 

Young Woman of Achievement Award: For High School graduates who show a future interest in the advancement of woman.  Candidates must be planning to attend a full-time college, who have succeeded scholastically, been active in community service, volunteerism and has shown leadership qualities. Deadline: The application needs to be turned into the Guidance Office by February 28, 2021.

 

March Deadlines

 

The Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship: For High School graduates planning to enroll part-time or full-time at an accredited vocational technical school, trade school, two-year community or state college for the 2020-2021 academic year.  For graduates pursuing an associate degree, credit-bearing certificate or an industry-recognized credential in one of the specified fields of study. NYSASBO-Southern Tier Chapter Scholarship: For 2020-2021 High School graduates who are pursuing a career in business or education at an accredited college, university, business or technical school. The graduate must reside in Broome or Tioga County and be a student in an eligible district.  An eligible district is one which has an employee who is an active member of the NYSASBO-Southern Tier Chapter. Deadline: 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021

 

Daughters of the American Revolution Tuscarora Chapter Scholarship: Available to students who are planning to pursue his/her education at an accredited college or university. Deadline: March 15, 2021

 

FASNY-Firemen’s Association of the State of New York: For High School graduates who are members of the youth fire service who also contribute to their communities.  You can apply now online at fasny.com/scholarship Deadline: March 15, 2021

 

Senator John J. Marchi Memorial Athletic Scholarship: For High School graduates who have demonstrated a grade point average of 85 or higher who have good conduct and demonstrate the dedication to pursue and complete a higher education degree.  The applicant must be active in community and extracurricular activities and are involved in an organized sport.  The applicant must also reside within a Senate or Assembly district of an active Italian-American Conference member and can demonstrate a financial need.  You can apply by clicking on the link provided.

Senator James D. Conte Memorial Academic Scholarship: For High School graduates who have demonstrated a grade point average of 85 or over who also have good conduct and demonstrate the decision to pursue and complete a higher education degree.  The applicant must be active in community and extracurricular activities as well as reside within a Senate or Assembly district of an active Italian-American Conference member.  The applicant should also demonstrate a financial need.  You can apply by clicking on the link provided. Senator James D. Professional Nurses Association of South Central New York, Inc. Scholarship: For students beginning their nursing education. 

Criteria for an individual beginning nursing education (i.e., applicant is not yet licensed):

Be a resident of Broome or Tioga County or other regional geographic areas with a SAT verbal and math combined score of 850 or higher or ACT reading and math score of 13 or higher or Upper 1/3 of high school class or 3.5 GPA (high school or after at least 12 college credits). Accepted/enrolled in an AD or BS Nursing Program for the Fall 2021 semester.  Demonstrates leadership role in school and/or community setting(s). Completes and submits application, providing all requested information by deadline. Deadline: Sunday March 21, 2021

 

Community Foundation for South Central New York Scholarship: For High School seniors who are graduating at a Broome County New York School.  Applicants will need to provide documented community service to less fortunate individuals, e.g. the sick, individuals living in poverty, homeless, disadvantaged youths, at-risk youths, the elderly or the infirm, living in Broome County New York.  Applicants should plan to attend a 4-year college or university or attend a two-year college in which case the award may be deferred to when and if the student attends a four-year school. The applications will need to be turned into the guidance office. Deadline: March 24, 2021

 

Dave Twomey Career Development Scholarship: For High School seniors actively participating in Career Development programs and activities who attend a high school in the Broome-Tioga BOCES region that participates in Career and Technical Education (CTE), including New Visions.  The applicant does NOT have to be a CTE student.  Applicants need to be entering a technical school/program or a 2 year/4 year college majoring in a subject area directly related to the student’s school and community-based learning experiences. Deadline: March 26, 2021

 

BAE Systems STEM Advancement Scholarship: For High School seniors in the Broome-Tioga BOCES region who are graduating in 2021.  The applicant must be accepted into and are entering a collegiate level STEM degree program. Deadline: March 26, 2021  

 

Visions Federal Credit Union-Visions Salutes Scholarship: For High School graduates who are pursuing a higher education.  Scholarship value is $1,000.  Applicants do not need to be a Visions member however they must be a legal dependent child of a veteran who is a Visions member.  One-time award.  Applicants can apply more than once, but not win more than once. Visions Federal Credit Union-Visions Cares Scholarship: For High School graduates who are pursuing a higher education.  Scholarship value is $1,000.  Applications must be Visions members in good standing.  This is a one-time award and can be combined with the Vision Salutes Scholarship.  Applicants can apply more than once, but not win more than once.  Application link is available at www.visionsfcu.org/scholarships Deadline: Wednesday March 31, 2021

 

NYS Grand Lodge Foundation, Inc. Gift of Sight Special Scholarship: A special scholarship grant to a high school graduating student, who is legally blind or visually impaired.  The award is $1,200.00 and the criteria is as follows: the applicant must be a current high school graduate of Italian descent who will begin full time undergraduate studies in the fall.  Along with the application the student will need to provide an official document of special need (for blindness or visual impairment) submitted by a doctor or special services director, an official transcript of SAT/ACT scores and two letters of recommendation from teachers or counselors.  An essay summarizing educational and career goals, school and community service and a discussion of the significance of their Italian Heritage must also be submitted.   There is a $10.00 fee that should be included with the application.  Deadline: Wednesday March 31, 2021

 

Caroline Prospect/Joseph Wolfer Memorial Scholarships: For High School seniors who wish to continue their education in the study of French toward a future career.  Candidates shall have good academic records with a history of extra-curricular activities and community service.  Deadline: March 31, 2021

 

April Deadlines

 Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship: For High School seniors, freshman or sophomore undergraduate students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 who are majoring or are planning to major in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and/or Physics.  Graduates who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the upcoming academic year who demonstrate a financial need.  Candidates should also be willing to consider internship opportunities with Lockheed Martin. Deadline: April 1, 2021 3:00 p.m. CT

 

Dorothy Bell Garner Memorial Scholarship: For High School graduates who are graduating high school with a cumulative average of 85 on a 100 point scale, are enrolling in a full-time program at an accredited 4-year college or university in the fall of 2021 and is also an underrepresented minority resident of Broome, Chenango, Delaware or Tioga counties in New York. Deadline: April 2, 2021

 

Margaret Lamoree Memorial Scholarship Award: For High School graduates who plan to continue their education at an accredited college, university, business or technical school in the field of Government or Public Service in the summer or fall of 2021.  Deadline: April 9, 2021 4:00 p.m.

 

Jim Bryden Memorial Scholarship: For High School graduates who are college-bound or trade school-bound pursuing a career in fields related to historic preservation, such as architecture, urban planning, construction, etc. Deadline: April 15, 2021

 

The Binghamton Pride Coalition Rainbow Scholarship: For applicants who are graduating from an accredited high school in the Southern Tier of New York or have received their GED.   Applicants must be actively involved in either a School Sanctioned GSA (Gay, Straight Alliance) or another LGBTQ organization during secondary school. (Church, School, Community organization) Deadline: April 16, 2021


Joseph A. Griffin Memorial Scholarship: For 2021 High School graduate that is furthering their education in public service such as criminal justice, forensic science, public safety or governmental administration.  Deadline: April 23, 2021 


Greater Binghamton UNICO Service Award- For 2021 High School graduates from any public or private secondary school within Broome County who plan to pursue a higher education. Candidates must have an overall unweighted grade point average of at least 90 and be a United States citizen of Italian ancestry, i.e. must have at least one parent of Italian origin.  The candidate must also be pursuing his/her course of study within the year the scholarship is awarded. Deadline: April 30, 2021

 

Angelo Zuccolo Memorial Service Award - For 2021 High School graduates from any public or private secondary school within Broome County who plan to pursue a higher education. Candidates must have an overall unweighted grade point average of at least 90 and be a United States citizen of Italian ancestry, i.e. must have at least one parent of Italian origin.  The candidate must also be pursuing his/her course of study within the year the scholarship is awarded. Deadline: April 30, 2021

 

May Deadlines

Jessie H. Baker Educational Fund Scholarship: For High School graduates who are college bound and are legal residents of Broome County whose combined family income does not exceed $70,000.00. Deadline: May 1, 2021


Progressive Dental Community Scholarship: For High School graduates who are interested in pursuing a college education who have displayed not only academic excellence but also a high community service interest.  Applications can be picked up at the guidance office or you can print one online at progressivedentalny.com Deadline: May 1, 2021

Junior League of Binghamton Mariana Schneider Malory Scholarship: For female high school graduates attending a Broome or Tioga high school who is the Class of 2021.   Applicant must plan to attend a two or four-year accredited college beginning in the fall of 2021.  Immediate family members of Junior League of Binghamton members are not eligible for consideration. Deadline: May 1, 2021

 

Mandy Middleton Community Service Award: For two High School graduates who have volunteered within the Town of Colesville (e.g., community projects, scouting, fire department, Church, school, work with senior citizens, fire prevention programs, Colesville pantry, etc.) Deadline: May 3, 2021


Lawrence D. Peters Memorial Scholarship: For High School graduates who are the children or grandchildren of veterans who are residents of Broome County or were at the time of their death.   Deadline: May 14, 2021

 

STTEEA Scholarship: For 2020-2021 graduate who is attending a STTEEA region high school (Broome, Tioga and Chenango Counties).  The candidate must be recommended by an active member of STTEEA and plan to enroll in a college or university as an Engineering, Technology or closely related STEM major for the 2021-2022 school year.  Deadline : May 14, 2021


2021 Laimons Drupa Scholarship sponsored by the Binghamton Garden Club: For 2020-2021 Broome County High School graduates planning to major in a university undergraduate program in or directly related to Horticulture, Botany, Biology (not pre-med) or Environmental Studies. The criteria for this scholarship are as follows: high school academic achievements, extra-curricular activities, particularly those related to chosen field of undergraduate study, service to the community outside the scholastic environment with emphasis on those related to chosen field of undergraduate study, personal letter and interview, letters of recommendation as well as a financial need. Deadline: Monday May 17, 2021 

 

June Deadlines

 

Lalor Family Dental Scholarship: For 2020-2021 High School graduates who are a patient of Lalor Family Dental and have been seen by the practice in the last twelve months.   Candidates must plan to enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.  Candidates must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).  Preferences will be given to those pursuing a dentistry related filed or healthcare related field. Deadline: June 1, 2021


PTO Scholarship: For 2020-2021 High School graduates who have completed two hours of volunteer time during their 9th and 10th grade years (2018 and 2019).  Volunteer time can be from any school or community program but cannot be used at the same time for graduation requirements or course credits. A letter from each organization including name of contact person, contact phone number and/or email address as well as the years and hours of service is required. Applicants are asked to include a short essay with suggestions on ways to encourage others to volunteer within our community. Deadline: June 11, 2021
