Group from Harpursville to demonstrate skills at regional competition

More than 900 high school students from 16 schools will showcase their skills and talents February 27 at the Region II BOCES SkillsUSA competition hosted at SUNY Morrisville.

Joining the team from Broome-Tioga BOCES’ Center for Career & Technical Excellence are several students from Harpursville, including (pictured l-r) Damion Lamoree (culinary), David Ellsworth (auto-service technology), and Ana Regalbuto (criminal justice). The competition includes 55 contests ranging from nurse assisting, job interviewing, commercial baking, culinary, cosmetology, auto service technology, welding and residential wiring. The top winners in each category go on to compete in the state competition. One winner from each state competition will go on to a national competition.
