Students compete in SkillsUSA competition

Five students from Harpursville Central School District participated in the Area II SkillsUSA Regional Competition at SUNY Morrisville on February 13. They included Danny Murphy, who placed 1st in carpentry, Mike Allen, who placed 2nd in power equipment, Zach Hunt, who placed 3rd in criminal justice, and Damion Lamoree, who placed 6th in Culinary Arts. Mercedes Streno had a portfolio review for health sciences.

Students placing in the top four advance to the SkillsUSA State Competition in Syracuse, which is scheduled for April 23 – 25.

SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations.
