Dear Harpursville Community,

 

 I am writing to provide an update on the search for a new Assistant Superintendent of Schools.

As many of you are already aware, Mrs. Horton has taken a new position in another BOCES region. We wish Mrs. Horton all the best and thank her for the years of service she provided the Harpursville School District as a district and building-level administrator. Since her announcement on leaving, we have been actively looking for a candidate to take over as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Accountability.

 

On Monday, July 24th an interview committee comprised of teachers, employees, and administrators interviewed five candidates that were selected from a strong pool of initial candidates. Following the interviews, each member of the interview committee was asked to provide their feedback. From the feedback received, one candidate was strongly recommended for hire. 

 

Based on the recommendation of the interview committee, we have offered the position of Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Accountability to Ms. Sarah Miller. 

 

We are currently in negotiations with Ms. Miller and will make a formal announcement upon completion of negotiations. We would like to thank all of the members of the selection committee for time, insights, and opinions. We look forward to having Ms. Miller join our school community.
