Superintendent Search Update 3/22/23

March 22, 2023

Dear Harpursville Community,
The Harpursville Central School District Board of Education would like to provide an update on the search
for a new Superintendent of Schools: On March 16, the school community had the opportunity to meet and interview Mr. Heath Georgia.
Written feedback was provided by the district office staff, the administrative team, teachers selected through the Harpursville Teachers Association, support staff selected through the Harpursville Support Staff Association, as well as a representative from the transportation department. In addition, the community was invited to a virtual Town Hall. Over 40 community members joined the meeting. Nineteen people participated in the ThoughtExchange and 21 questions were generated. After
the Town Hall was completed, the community was asked to provide feedback. Twenty-four community members provided feedback and ranked the feedback provided by other community members. The Board of Education reviewed all feedback after the town hall. The board decided unanimously to offer the position of Superintendent of Schools to Mr. Georgia. The board is currently in negotiations with Mr. Georgia and will make a formal announcement upon completion of negotiations. We would like to thank our community for their assistance during this process and look forward to having Mr. Georgia join our
school community on July 1, 2023.

On behalf of the Harpursville Board,
Michelle Noyes
Board of Education President
