Since March 2020 and throughout the entire school closure period due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Harpursville Central School District has prioritized the health, well-being, and safety of our entire school community.  This remains our #1 priority.  Now that we are challenged with reopening our schools with COVID protocols in place again for the 2021-2022 school year, we remain committed to developing and implementing a plan that allows our schools to reopen safely and in manner consistent with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and New York State Department of Education (NYSED) guidelines.  This webpage is designed to provide all relevant information regarding the reopening of schools across New York State, including the Harpursville Schools.

Harpursville Central School District Preliminary Return to School Plan

The preliminary plan for reopening the Harpursville Central School district provides a through overview for the start of the 2020-2021 school year.  It is subject to change based on additional guidance, new rules or regulations that public schools are required to follow, and feedback from our school community.  Read the HCS Reopening Plan here.

The plan is expected to be a living document; changes to the plan are expected and likely.  In fact, in a recent Zoom call with key NYSED officials, the Interim Commissioner recently stated, “We do not expect that your plan on July 31 will be the same plan that you have on September 1.”   Our hope is to keep changes to a minimum so that parents/guardians, students, and our HCS faculty and staff have as much time as possible to plan for the school year.

We know that many arrangements will need to be made by families in preparation for the start of the school year.  We know that this is not an ideal situation for anyone.  Thank you for your patience and understanding of the circumstances that we are all facing together.  We sincerely value your continued support!
