Student Achievement Spotlight: HCS High School Students Earns Commercial Drone Pilot Certification
Harpursville High School is proud to recognize Jason Smith, a student in Mr. Strantz’s Drone course, for successfully passing the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification exam. With this achievement, Jason is now officially a certified commercial drone pilot.
The FAA Part 107 certification allows individuals to operate drones for commercial purposes, including photography, mapping, inspections, and other professional applications. Jason’s accomplishment reflects both his dedication to mastering drone technology and the real-world skills being developed in Harpursville’s program.
The Drone course at Harpursville High School continues to provide students with hands-on experience in aviation technology, preparing them for emerging careers in the rapidly growing drone industry. Under the guidance of Mr. Strantz, students gain practical flight training, safety knowledge, and preparation for industry certification exams like FAA Part 107.
