“There are many reason that I have been with the Harpursville Central School District for 30 years. This district provides the ability to create lasting relationships with my students, coworkers, and the community. There is opportunity to continually improve my teaching skills as a veteran educator, through district sponsored professional development that allows me to meet the needs of a changing student body. The school district and community provides support for electives and educational field trips to enhance student learning.
At HCS there is an opportunity to be part of a team approach to education at a small school that offers big school opportunities through programs, electives, and college courses.”

“Once a hornet, always a hornet! Working at the Harpursville Central School District has always been an interest of mine. I was inspired to pursue a career as a teacher early on, by the wonderful people who worked with me when I attended Harpursville as a student. Moving home to teach has been so rewarding not just for me, but for my children. Our beautiful campus sits among a charming, small country community, with a continuous improvement model focus; academically, socially, emotionally, and athletically.
Our Professional Learning Community team is both action and result-oriented with administrators, teachers, support staff, and families. When you hear “WE” in all planning conversations, you feel that needed sense of value among the team. Our district is focused on building a strong foundation for all learners, while supporting students with the tools needed to be successful.
As the Art teacher, I enjoy collaborating with fellow teachers to build a bridge among the grade level and art curriculums. Our smaller community allows for stronger relationships, enhanced differentiated learning, and leadership opportunities. Driving onto campus is a “home” feeling and it is a blessing to be apart of a community that works to empower all.”
