Harpursville Central School District Receives Agricultural Incentive Grant

Harpursville Central School District has been awarded an Agricultural Incentive Grant through Cornell Agriculture Education and Outreach. The three-year grant supports new and expanding agricultural programs across New York state.

This grant can be used for funding program development, classroom materials, field experiences, and FFA (Future Farmers of America) leadership training and materials. Planned projects include purchasing material for maple syrup production, building raised garden beds to create a school garden, and FFA jackets for students.
Harpursville agriculture teacher Lesley Arsenault states that she is “very excited to receive this grant because it eliminates a lot of barriers to providing true hands-on education.”

In addition, the Harpursville FFA chapter has received national approval, providing students with additional opportunities for leadership and growth.
