Ms. McDonald
and Mrs. Moore challenged their summer enrichment students to think “Outside
the Box”. Everything the students made
was crafted from some something recycled thus helping our environment while
having fun creating works of art. The second and third grade transformed empty
toilet paper rolls into a menagerie of Minions. There were sightings of Kevin,
King Bob, baby Minions, Chef Minions and quite a few scary Vampire Minions. Minion Mania even pulled in the student
workers! A big thanks goes to Peyton and Brock for their creative efforts.
The fourth,
fifth, and sixth grade students used recycled 2 ltr. bottles to make “Grass
Head” Creatures. It was a very “hairy”
adventure. Using cardboard boxes, manila folders, cereal and cracker boxes they
also created a whole new line of headgear. There were top hats, party hats,
baseball caps, and many, many more fashion statements.
To end the our
time together all grade levels created egg carton creatures including very
scary spiders, dragons, beautiful butterflies and busy bees just to name a few.
All of the
projects were creative and well-constructed proving the resourcefulness and
imagination of all of our students. A great job was done and a fun summer
experience was had by all.
