High School Team Wins First Place at Engineering Day!

Harpursville’s “Building Hornets” placed first in the region during the 8th Annual Engineering Days hosted by Broome-Tioga BOCES on Monday November 08, 2021.  Engineering Days is a partnership between the Eastern Southern Tier STEM Hub and Broome-Tioga BOCES.  The idea is for students from 16 school districts to create a functional Rube Goldberg-like machine using only materials provided to them.  Teams of four are given approximately two hours to complete this task and are given no advanced knowledge of what materials they will be working with, or what they need to accomplish until the timer starts.  These industrious Hornets were able to collaborate and create a well oiled machine! Way to go team! We are truly #HornetProud!
