As you likely know, NYS mandates that all schools hold a certain amount of fire drills and lock down drills each year.  We have one more lockdown drill to complete in the JSHS building so we will be doing so on Monday, June 12.  With the incident earlier this week, I wanted to be sure to communicate with you to alleviate any conditional concern that might arise with the knowledge of this drill.  We have used these drills throughout the year to be sure everone knows the expectations and procedures if we were to have an emergency.  An ounce of preparation is worth a ton of prevention! 

As has been stated this week, the safety of our students and staff is paramount to what we do here at the school.  We want all of our students to feel safe coming to school and all of our parents to feel safe sending their child.  So, please know that when the JSHS is in a lockdown on Monday, it will be a preplanned drill.  It is important and expected that all students and staff act as if the drill is an actual lock down.  This means no cell phones or phone calls during the lock down.
